Wireless Spreader Key Fob Mating

Every time the battery in the key fob is changed, the key fob must be re-mated to the spreader. The
battery is a CR-2032 and can be purchased at most drug stores.

Step one: Make sure that the spreader is getting power from the vehicle. To confirm that it is getting
power, unplug the spreader cord, and press the toggle switch down into the override position (see photo
2 below). Stand clear of the spinner, and plug the spreader cord into the 7-prong plug on the vehicle. The
spreader should start up full speed. (If the spreader does not start, make sure there is power getting to
the spreader cord at the 10 o’clock position for the positive and the 4 o’clock position for the negative
(see photo 1 below)…if the polarity is reversed, the spreader will not work). Now, unplug the cord, lift
the toggle switch up into the center position, and plug the cord back into the vehicle. Note: if the
spreader is not unplugged from the power source after running on override, the remote key fob will be
locked out.
Step two: With the spreader plugged into the power source, hold the toggle switch up (see photo 2) into
the learn position for 15 seconds and then release. (This clears the circuit board of former codes). Then
open up a paperclip and gently insert the end into the small hole on the back of the key fob (see photo 3).
A blue light will begin to flash beside the hole (see photo 4). This blue light will only stay flashing for 10 to
15 seconds. While this blue light is flashing, press the buttons on the front of the key fob in this order:
50%, off, 100%, 50%, off, 100%. (This sequence must be completed exactly this way while the blue light
is flashing or you will need to start again). When the blue light has stopped flashing, then hold the toggle
switch on the spreader up in the learn position for 2 seconds and release. Then hold the 50% button
down on the key fob until the spreader starts…this may take up to 30 seconds. Sometimes it helps to
push up the toggle switch into the learn position for about a second during the time you are pressing the
50% button. If the spreader does not start, you may have to do this operation a second time. If only one
or two buttons on the key fob work, it means that the sequence of pressing the buttons while the blue
light was blinking was not followed correctly. You will have to re-do this procedure.
