TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem

Causes

Solutions

Tool will not start.

Power cord not connected.

Check that power cord is plugged in.

No power at outlet.

Check power at outlet. If outlet is
unpowered, turn off tool and check
circuit breaker.

Internal damaged or wear.
(carbon brush or switch)

Have technician service tool.

Attachment is
loose on the tool.

Holes on attachment not line
up with pins on spindle.

Remove the attachment and re-mount,
making sure that the holes in the
attachment are secured over the pins
on the spindle.

Screw (Part# 1) not tight
enough.

Tighten this screw to at least 100 inch-
lbs.

Tool operates
slowly.

Extension cord too long or
wire size too small.

Eliminate use of extension cord. If an
extension cord is needed, use
shorter/heavier gauge cord. See
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
section.

Performance
decreases over
time.

Attachment dull or damaged. Keep cutting accessories sharp.

Replace as needed.

Carbon brushes worn or
damaged.

Have technical replace brushes.

Excessive noise or
ratting.

Internal damage or wear.

Have technical service tool.

Overheating

Forcing tool to work.

Allow tool to work at its own rate.

Attachment dull or damaged. Keep cutting accessories sharp.

Replace as needed.

Blocked motor housing
vents.

Blow dust out of motor using
compressed air.
