117 Series Strobe Installation Sheet

Description

The Edwards 117 Series Strobe is a low profile, surface
mounted UL and cUL listed signaling appliances in a NEMA 4X
rated enclosure.

Installation

WARNING:

To prevent electrical shock, ensure power is

turned off before installation or maintenance.

To surface mount the strobe:

1. Place the mounting gasket (supplied) over the hole in the

surface and route the signal wires through the gasket and
the hole in the panel.

2. Secure the beacon to the surface using two screws

appropriate for the mounting surface (not supplied).

3. Using wire nuts (not supplied), connect the signal's wire

leads as shown in Figure 1. Polarity must be observed on
DC units.

Maintenance

Cleaning

The module lens exterior surfaces should be periodically
cleaned with a soft clean cloth using water and a mild
detergent to maintain optimum light visibility. Disconnect power
before cleaning.

Light source replacement

1. Disconnect

wiring.

2. Unscrew lens from base.

3. Unplug strobe tube and replace with new strobe tube as

appropriate (see specifications). Replace lens on base.
