Shield Nose Cone

OveRview

The TROLL Shield copper nose cone is designed to reduce macro- and micro-
fouling of the pressure sensor on Level TROLL

®

and Aqua TROLL

®

instruments.

Reduced fouling on the sensor improves measurement accuracy and extends the
length of instrument deployments.

Use with:

Level TROLL 300, 500, and 700 instruments

Aqua TROLL 200 instruments

For optimum performance, replace the nose cone every 12 months.

iNSTRuCTiONS

Remove the existing nose cone.

If the ports in the front end are clogged with silt or mud, try the following:

Gently

dip the sensor end into a cup of clean water and swirl

slowly.

From the outside of the sensor body,

carefully clean plugged holes with a

soft brush.
To remove hard deposits, soak the sensor end overnight in a mild acidic

solution, such as household vinegar. Gently rinse with water afterwards.

Do

not fully submerge the instrument.

Securely attach the TROLL Shield copper nose cone.

When the nose cone is removed, the sensitive
pressure sensor diaphragm is completely
exposed. Do not touch this area with any
object!

To avoid damage to the pressure sensor
diaphragm, do not insert any object into the
sensor opening or attempt to dig out dirt or

other materials. Damage caused by digging or
scraping in the pressure sensor opening is not covered
by the warranty.
