connections
1. Remove the protective dust cap from the bottom of the desiccant pack, if applicable.
2. Remove the small desiccant (if present) from the RuggedCable by grasping the

knurled (textured) section of the cable connector in one hand and the desiccant in the
other. Twist in opposite directions to unlock the desiccant from the cable.

3. Attach the large desiccant to the Twist-Lock connector on the cable.

Attaching cables and accessories is a simple matter of mating the Twist-Lock

connectors. This is easy after you've done it once or twice. For detailed steps and
photographs, see the product Quick Start Guide, or the Operator's Manual.

4. Remove the red dust cap to allow air to reach the cable's vent tube, if applicable.

guiDeLines & precautions
• To communicate with the instrument, remove the desiccant and attach a TROLL Com

to the cable.

• Desiccant will absorb moisture from the top down and for best results should be re-

placed before the entire volume has turned pink. A refill kit, Cat. No. 0029140, is avail-
able from In-Situ Inc. or your distributor.

• Protect new desiccant from moisture until ready to use.

Be sure to remove the red dust cap
from the top of the #0051810 desic-
cant before instrument deployment.
