NOSE CONE STIRRER

Catalog No. 42210

APPLICATION
Battery-powered magnetic stirrer provides continuous agitation of sample during
calibration or deployment in slow-moving or stagnant water. Attaches to the front
end of the MP TROLL in place of the nose cone, or to the Calibration Cup. Elimi-
nates potential sensor cross-contamination and increases the rate of flow through
the restrictor. Guard plate retains stir bar in fast-moving water and protects it from
debris.

GUIDELINES AND PRECAUTIONS

To activate the stirrer, tighten the end cap about ¼ turn. This starts the motor;
the stir bar will begin to spin. To stop the motor, back off the cap until the stir bar
stops spinning.

Replace batteries with 2 standard alkaline D-cells, – toward the end cap,
+ toward the stir bar compartment.

When attaching to the restrictor or Cal Cup, be careful not to over-tighten.

The stir bar guard may be removed for cleaning when necessary. Insert the
sensor removal tool into the center rings and pop the guard out.

Inspect o-rings regularly; replace if they show evidence of wear or damage (o-
rings & lubricant available from In-Situ Inc. or your distributor).
