Trip Planning On Your Smartphone

You can use CoPilot on your Smartphone for trip planning whether or
not the GPS receiver is connected and receiving data. In Planning Mode
you can run a trip even when you’re not in your car. You’ll get driving
directions and maps to use as a reference before your trip begins.

1. First turn on your Smartphone

and launch CoPilot. Select
Plan Route, or in the Going To
screen or any guidance screen
press Options > Mode > and
select Planning.

2. The My Start & Stops screen will

open. Select <Add a Stop>,
then add stops to your trip as
you would in Guidance mode.

3. The fi rst stop in the My Start & Stops list is the starting point of your

trip. Use the Options menu in this screen to change the position
of the highlighted stop on the list, to optimise the stop order (there
must be at least three stops to do this), or to see the highlighted stop
on the map. Press Directions when all stops have been entered to
generate an Itinerary.

4. Press Options > Actions > Map to see the highlighted stop on the

map. In the Map screen, you can use the Options menu to zoom
your view in and out or pick a stop off the map to add to the list in
the My Start & Stops screen (see p. 20). If the map is too cluttered,
you can turn off the display of POI — select Show POI to toggle it
off or on.

5. If you decide you want to begin driving and receive guidance on this

planned route, simply select Options > Mode > Guidance. The My
Start & Stops
screen becomes the Going To screen. Just press Drive
to start your trip.
