Thank you for purchasing the MXL BCD-1 Broadcast Dynamic Microphone. With proper care this microphone will provide many

years of satisfaction. For best results please take a few moments to review this literature.

General Characteristics

This microphone is a cardoid pattern dynamic microphone, primarily designed for broadcast use, but it can be used equally effectively

to record ham radio and musical applications. The term “cardioid response” means that the microphone is most sensitive to sound

arriving from the front, and less sensitive to sound from the side and rear. The rugged metal construction and integrated steel mesh

grill ensure that the BCD-1 will perform consistently in nearly all environments. The microphone features an adjustable mounting

bracket ready to attach to any industry standard microphone stand and boom arm. The BCD-1 includes a standard 3-pin male XLR

type connector, which can be connected to the rest of your equipment using a standard XLR microphone cable.

Microphone Cables

The microphone cable can have a profound effect on the sound of any microphone. Even the finest microphones will sound poor if the

interconnect cable allows noise to enter or causes distortion or loss of information. We recommend the use of Mogami Brand cables.

Care

Dust and foreign materials can degrade the performance of a microphone over time. Store the microphone in a warm dry place when

not in use. To remove fingerprints and marks from the microphone wipe with a clean, soft dry cloth.
