CHAPTER 12.

MANAGING TABLES

Using dba/m Database Manager, you can perform the following operations
on tables:

Create table

Alter the attributes of table

Rename a table

Drop a table

Display statistics of a table

Update statistics of a table

Invoke the definition of a table

Add, change, or delete constraints on a table

Add, change, or delete help text of the columns of a table

Add, change, or delete table comments

Add, change, or delete comments for columns in a table

Add, change, or delete constraint comments

You can manage tables by accessing windows from the Object Tree button,
the Custom Tree button, or the Tables button in the Main window.

The procedures in this chapter only describe how to access table
management windows from the Tables menu button. Refer to Chapter 3 for
information about managing tables from the Object Tree, and Chapter 4 for
information about the Custom Tree.

Creating a Table

You can create a table by entering all of the attributes of a table, or by
copying the attributes of an existing table and modifying them for the new
table. You can also create partitions for the table.

When creating a table, you perform the following tasks:

Assign the table name, location, and security string

Define the table’s organization
