One of the modes that can be applied to a channel adapter board. If you

apply High Speed mode to a channel adapter board, only one of the ports

on the channel adapter board will be usable, but the port performance will

be improved.
Any channel adapter is in Standard mode or High Speed mode. By default,

any channel adapter takes Standard mode.
