Performs periodic synchronization for datafile and archive log virtual volumes while the

database is OPEN.

-o hotbkup

This option is the same as the

-o online

and is deprecated. This option will be removed

in a future release.

-o offline

Performs periodic synchronization for datafile virtual volumes while the database is

CLOSED.

-o coldbkup

This option is the same as the

-o offline

and is deprecated. This option will be

removed in a future release.

-o checkonly

Verifies the Remote Copy configuration.

-v

Runs the command in verbose mode to display useful messages.

-f

Force to create a database virtual copy with a retention time. If retention time is specified

either through the Recovery Manager configuration file or through the

-r

option, this

option must be specified.

-r <time>{d|D|h|H}

Specifies the amount of time, relative to the current time, that the virtual copy will be

retained. If the

-r

option is not specified, the virtual copy’s retention time is default to the

value set in the configuration file.

<time>

is a positive integer value and in the range of 0

hour - 43800 hours (1825 days).

d|D

means days.

h|H

means hours. A value of 0

indicating that the virtual copy will have no retention time.
