Reloading configuration information
After creating an FS pair, you can reload the configuration information if data shown in windows
are different.
For example, the number of pairs shown in the summary section in the Local Replication window
and the number of pairs shown in the list in the FS Pairs tab can be different.
1.
Wait until the configuration information has completed processing.
2. If the numbers remain different, click File > Refresh All.
Workflow for creating and managing Fast Snap pairs
Use the following workflow to create and manage an FS pair:
1. Create the data pool (see “Creating Fast Snap data pools” (page 38) ).
2. Create the V-VOL for the pair (see “Creating LDEVs” (page 51) ).
3. Check the pair status (see “Checking Fast Snap pair status” (page 61) ).
4. Create the FS pair. You can:
•
Create the FS pair using RWC.
For more information about how to create FS pairs using RWC, see “Workflow for creating
Fast Snap pairs using Remote Web Console” (page 62) .

Create the FS pair using the RAID Manager and assign the pair to a snapshot group.
For more information about how to create FS pairs using RAID Manager, see “Creating

5. If you have assigned the pairs to the consistency group, split the FS pair using the consistency
group to store snapshot data.
6. Delete the snapshot data. To do this, complete one of the following:
•
Delete the FS pairs (see “Deleting Fast Snap pairs” (page 85) ).
•
Delete only the snapshot data (see “Resynchronizing Fast Snap pairs” (page 83) ).
Workflow for creating Fast Snap pairs using Remote Web Console
The pairs shown in the RWC main window are configured based on the number of S-VOLs
corresponding to the P-VOL.
The following image shows this configuration.
