Allocating volumes from general tasks

You can allocate volumes from the General Tasks pane.

1.

From the Resources or Mobility tab, select Allocate Volumes.

TIP:

If you do not see Allocate Volumes listed, click more... to see all menu items.

2.

Because you have not selected a resource such as a volume or host, the Allocate Volume dialog
box will launch and prompt you for all needed information.

3.

Specify your volume allocation requirements.

4.

Click Show Plan to check your volume allocation.

5.

If the plan is correct, submit the task.

6.

Check for a Completed task status.

Allocating volumes to selected hosts

You can allocate volumes to one or more selected hosts.

1.

From the Resources tab, select Hosts.

2.

Hosts are grouped by operating system. Click the operating system for the target hosts.

TIP:

If you do not know the host OS, searching for the host may be the better method for locating
the host and allocating volumes.

3.

Select one or more hosts, and then click Allocate Volumes.

4.

Specify your volume allocation requirements.

5.

Click Show Plan to check your volume allocation.

6.

If the plan is correct, submit the task.

7.

Check for a Completed task status.
