Changing Printer Control Panel Configuration
Settings

By using the printer control panel, you can make changes to general
printer configuration default settings such as PowerSave, printer
personality (language) and jam recovery.

CAUTION

Hewlett-Packard recommends that configuration settings be changed
only by a system administrator. Configuration settings very seldom
need to be changed.

To change printer control panel configuration
settings

until CONFIGURATION MENU displays.

until the item that you want to change displays.

until the appropriate setting displays.

to save the setting.

to return the printer to the READY state.

Changing PowerSave Settings

The adjustable PowerSave feature reduces power consumption when
the printer has been inactive for an extended period. The printer
display dims when the printer is in PowerSave mode. You can set the
length of time before the printer goes into PowerSave mode to OFF,
1 minute, 30 minutes or to 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. The default setting is
1 hour.
