Expansion rack kit overview
The MCS 5042 unit can cool two racks when a secondary rack is installed.
The Expansion Rack Kit includes a compatible secondary rack and the hardware necessary to install the rack
to the MCS 5042 unit. For more information about the kit, see the HP Expansion Rack Installation Instructions.
Expansion Rack Kit functionality
After you install the expansion rack to the MCS 5042 unit, you must go to the web interface to enable it.
To enable the expansion rack functionality and have the MCS 5042 unit cool both racks:
1.
From the Setup tab, select Intake Temp.
2.
Scroll down to the Rack Support option, and select Dual.
NOTE:
When two racks are cooled by the MCS 5042 unit, the maximum load capacity per rack
is distributed across the two racks.
3.
Select Save Settings.
