NOTE:

Perform a scan over a range that contains volumes to be defined in the copy group.

HP recommends that the dummy device numbers to be assigned to the volumes detected
by the remote scan match the numbers for the volumes detected by the remote scan from
the primary site.

If different dummy device numbers are assigned, the device numbers at the secondary
site, displayed when an error occurs in the devices, will differ from the ones at the primary
site.

A DAD ID that is to be assigned to the primary site by performing a remote scan must be
the same DAD ID assigned by the scan from the primary site.

For details on how to perform scans to acquire storage system information, see

“Acquiring

volume information” (page 518)

.

10. Define copy groups.

Define Continuous Access Synchronous Z and Continuous Access Journal Z copy groups at
the primary host or the secondary host.

You must define the same number of copy pairs in both the Continuous Access Synchronous
Z and Continuous Access Journal Z copy groups.

When specifying a consistency group ID for a Continuous Access Synchronous Z copy
group, you can define the copy group as a copy group container. However, you cannot
define a copy group container for the Continuous Access Journal Z copy groups.

11. From the primary host, make sure that the status of the Continuous Access Synchronous Z and

Continuous Access Journal Z copy groups is SIMPLEX, and then execute the YKMAKE command
to create a copy pair for Continuous Access Synchronous Z copy groups.
