About tasks

A task is a type of operation, such as changing the status of a copy pair or creating a copy pair or
copy group based on a specified schedule. Tasks are managed based on copy groups as functional
units. Multiple tasks created for the same copy group using the Pair Configuration Wizard are
collectively known as associated tasks.

For example, if you create copy groups A and B, which constitute a multi-target configuration, and
copy groups C and D, which constitute a cascade configuration, Replication Manager generates two
tasks, each on a copy group basis, for each workflow.
