SelectVSMDomain

command

Syntax

SelectVSMDomain -Domain DomainName, -User UserName, ~
-Password Password

Description

Selects the current SVSP domain for all subsequent CLI operations. This command must be the first
command in every script or CLI execution, or there is no valid SVSP domain for which to connect.

The Username and Password arguments are not for operating system users, but for the
SVSP-domain defined users. To run the command, you must define users as part of the SVSP-domain
configuration. This mechanism enables the administrator to define who can run CLI scripts.

Virtual disk manager commands

BackupSetup

command

Syntax

BackupSetup -Destination DestinationPath

Description

To back up the current VSM setup into a local file (on the VSM). The DestinationPath should
be a folder on the VSM.

ChangePresentation

command

Syntax

ChangePresentation -VirtualDisk VirtualDiskName, ~
-host Hostname1 R|RW|OFF, ~
[-host HostName2 R|RW|OFF,] [-cluster 0|1,] -timeout 900

Description

Changes the presentation for a virtual disk.

The cluster support (-cluster) argument is optional. The cluster argument values can be:

0: reset cluster support flag (no cluster support).

1: set cluster support flag (cluster is supported).

Limitations:

Observe the VSM rules for changing presentations. For example, a virtual disk that is assigned
to a host and has PiTs defined on it, cannot be assigned to another host.

A bootable virtual disk cannot be clustered.

A bootable virtual disk can have permissions to only one host.

To remove permissions to a bootable virtual disk, the host must be in an absent status in the
VSM.
