S197 TUBULAR CONTROL ARMS

Part # ACA004, TCA019, TCA022, TCA032

NOTE: When performing this installation it is recommended to do one side at a time. Removing both lower
control arms at the same time allows the rear to move forward making re-installation more difficult.

INSTALLATION:

1. Lift vehicle and support by the axle. Remove both rear wheels.
2. Using a small screwdriver, unhook the brake cable were it attaches on the caliper. Slide the brake cable

out of the control arm.

3. Remove both control arm bolts using an 18mm wrench or socket. Remove the control arm.
4. On polyurethane equipped models, lube the external bushing surfaces of the new control arms.
5. With the narrow end forward, install the control arm using the factory bolts. The offset bushings at the

rear of the control arms face inward. Tighten all mounting bolts to 130 ft/lbs.

6. Repeat steps 2-5 on the other side.
7. Re-install the brake cables. This may be done by using a pry-bar to rotate the brake lever while re-

inserting the cable end into the slot. Zip-tie the brake cable to the new control arms.

8. Using a grease gun with a silicone based polyurethane lube; lube each grease fitting with 1-2 pumps. For

maximum longevity, re-grease in an additional 500 miles and then every other oil change.

9. Lower vehicle.
