BMR Suspension For the car
DRIVESHAFT SAFETY LOOP INSTALLATION
DSL018– 2008-2009 PONTIAC G8 AUTOMATIC
RECOMMENDED TOOLS:
(2) 9/16” wrenches, (1) ½” wrench, (1) 15mm wrench
13mm, 15mm, ½” socket
3/8” drive ratchet or impact
Hydraulic jack and jack stands or Hydraulic service lift
Drill with 5/16” and 3/8” drill-bit
INSTALLATION:
1. Lift vehicle and support safely under frame rails.
2. Support the transmission using a jack stand or jack.
3. As shown in IMAGE 1 below, pry the rubber exhaust hangers off the studs and set them aside.
4. Using a 13mm socket, remove the transmission mount nuts as shown in IMAGE 2. Lift the transmission as high as possible.
5. Using a 15mm socket, remove the (4) transmission crossmember bolts and lower the crossmember afew inches. (IMAGE 3)
6. There is a transmission vent line attached to the top of the crossmember on the passenger side. Using a 15mm wrench,
remove the clamp then the crossmember may be removed. (IMAGE 4)
