CONNECTING YOUR PREAMPLIFIER

The rear connections of the 60 dB Microphone preamplifier consists of one 3 Pin input XLR
and one 3 Pin output XLR.

The input is a transformer-coupled balanced input. Phase is selectable on the front panel.
In the 0º switch setting, the standardly shipped pin out is:
PIN1 - ground
PIN2 - positive going phase (+)
PIN3 - negative going phase (-)

The 180º phase setting will reverse pins 2 &3.
The input impedance of the transformer coupled input is 200 ohms.

Phantom 48V power is switchable via locking switch located on the front panel. Do not
engage this switch unless you are using a balanced mic cable and a microphone which re-
quires phantom power!

A HIGH IMPEDANCE DIRECT input is located on the 1/4" jack on the front panel for use
with guitars and synths.
This input is wired:
TIP: HOT
SLEEVE: GROUND

The gain is internally preset for 60dB of gain at the 0 (maximum) feedback setting. Adjust-
ment for up to 75dB of gain is easily achieved by adjusting the blue trimpot located on the
audio board inside the unit. To change the gain, simply remove the top cover and turn the
trimpot to the desired setting using a small screwdriver.

The standard output is unbalanced. The standardly shipped pinout is:
PIN1 - ground
PIN2 - hot(+)
PIN3 - ground

This unit is supplied with an internal voltage change-over switch. To change the voltage
between 110,120 and 220,240; remove the cover and rotate the top section of the change-
over switch with a small flat screwdriver. It is a good idea to mark the unit to indicate which
mains voltage is selected if travelling between countries.
