Steering assist installation:

1. To begin installation, block the rear tires of the vehicle so that the vehicle is stable and can’t roll backwards. Safely lift
the front of the vehicle and support the frame with a pair of jack stands. Place a jack stand on both the driver and the pas-
senger side. Next, remove the front wheels and tires from both sides.

2. Working on the driver side, loosen but do not remove the stock nut holding the Tuff Country center link to the pitman
arm. Carefully break the taper on the stock pitman arm and the Tuff Country center link.

3. Working on the passenger side, loosen but do not remove the stock nut holding the Tuff Country center link to the idler
arm. Carefully break the taper on the stock idler arm and the Tuff Country center link.

4. Locate the new steering assist. Also, locate (4) PB2408 poly bushngs, (2) S10081 sleeves and (2) sert fittings. Install
the new bushings and sleeve into the new steering assist. Special note: Make sure to use a lithium or moly base
grease when installing the new bushings and sleeves into the new steering assist. This will help increase the life
of the bushings as well as prevent squeaking.
Now install the new sert fittings into each end of the new steering assist.
Special note: The new sert fittings are pound in fittings, take special care not to damage during installation.

5. Locate (2) 9/16” x 3” bolts and (2) 1/2” USS flat washers. Install the new steering assist to the Tuff Country center link
and secure using the new 9/16” x 3” bolt and 1/2” USS flat washer. Make sure to use thread locker or lock tite. Special
note: We do not want to tighten this bolt right now, just get the bolt started into the Tuff Country center link.
Now
install the other eyelet of the new steering assist to the Tuff COuntry front cross member and secure using the new 9/16”
x 3” bolt and 1/2” USS flat washer. Make sure to use thread locker or lock tite. Now that the steering assist is attached
to the Tuff Country front cross member and the center link, start to tighten one 9/16” bolt one full turn then move to the
other 9/16” bolt and tighten one full turn until both bolt are torque to 85 ft lbs.

6. Move back to the stock nut on the pitman arm and idler arm and torque the stock nuts to 110 ft lbs.

7. Carefully lower the vehicle to the ground.

Congratulations, installation complete!

Special note: After the completion of the installation, Tuff Country EZ-Ride Suspension recommends taking the
vehicle to an alignment shop and having a proper front end alignment performed.

Tuff Country EZ-Ride Suspension recommends that a complete re-torque is done on all bolts associated with this
suspension system. It is the customers responsibility to make sure that a re-torque is performed on all hardware
associated with this suspension system after the first 100 miles of installation. It is also the customers responsi-
bility to do a complete re-torque after every 3000 miles or after every off road use. Neglect of following these steps
could cause brackets to come loose and cause serious damage to the suspension system and to the vehicle.
