Please follow instructions carefully:
Stabilizer installation:
1. To begin installation, block the rear tires of the vehicle that
the vehicle is stable and can’t roll backwards. Place the
steering wheel in the center location.
2. If the vehicle that you are working on is equipped with a
stock steering stabilizer, remove the stock steering stabilizer
from the stock location. The stock steering stabilizer and the
stock hardware may be discarded.
3. Locate the new center stabilizer bracket and (2) 1/2” x 3
7/8” x 5” round u-bolts. Also, locate (4) 1/2” u-bolt harden
washers and (4) 1/2’ u-bolt high nuts from hardware bag
66250NB1. Measure from the differential housing flange
towards the passenger side 3/8” and scribe a mark. Install
the new center stabilizer bracket to the stock front axle lining
up the mark that was scribed earlier in this step with the driv-
er side edge of the new bracket. Secure using the new 1/2”
x 3 7/8” x 5” round u-bolts and hardware. Torque to 65 ft.
lbs. Special note: Make sure that there is at lease a 1/4”
clearance from the new center bracket and the stock tie
rod.
4. Locate the driver and passenger side outer stabilizer
brackets. Also, locate (4) 5/16” x 1 1/2” x 2 3/16” round u-
bolts and (8) 5/16” flange nuts from hardware bag
66250NB1. Working on the driver side, install the outer
bracket to the stock tie rod and secure using the new u-bolts
and hardware. Torque to 18 ft lbs. Special note: When
installing the outer bracket to the tie rod, make sure to
install the bracket to the leading edge of the threads on
the stock tie rod. Also, make sure that the brackets are
installed parallel to the ground. Repeat procedure on the
passenger side.
5. Locate (4) universal stabilizer mounting hardware packs
from hardware bag 66250NB1. Install (2) universal bolts to
the center stabilizer bracket and torque to 28 ft lbs. Install
(1) universal bolt to the outer driver side new bracket and (1)
universal bolt to the outer passenger side new bracket and
toruqe both sides to 28 ft lbs.
6. Locate the new stabilizers. Also, locate the new dust boot
covers. Special note: Dust boots are not included in this
box kit and need to be ordered as a sperate part #. If you
have not already ordered your new dust boot covers,
please contact Tuff Country or your local Tuff Country
dealer and order your new new dust boot covers. Install
the new dust boot covers onto each stabilizer and secure the
dust boot covers to the stabilizers with the supplied zip ties.
Secure the new stabilizers to the new center out outer brack-
ets using the supplied hardware. Torque new hardware to
28 ft lbs.
