INSTALLATION

ALL MODELS EXCEPT 2968-006, 2968-007, 2968-008 AND 2968-016.

1. If the planter is already equipped with a unit mounted coulter and Residue

Manager Combination Unit the will have to be removed first to allow installation of
the new bracket onto the face plate of the planter.

2. Attach the new Fertilizer Combination Bracket to the face plate of the planter with

bolts from the unit mounted coulter.

3. Attach the unit coulter arm to the Fertilizer Combination Bracket with hardware

from the unit coulter. It may be useful to refer to the operation manual for your unit
mounted coulter at this time.

4. Attach the Residue Manager Combination Unit Arm to the Bracket and insert

Adjustment Pin to hold arm in place.

5. Attach a Fertilizer Combination Arm to each side of the unit with ½” bolts and

locknuts. The Arm on the left side should be mounted on the inside. The Arm on
the right side should be mounted on the outside for more clearance on units that
include coulter Arms.

6. Assemble the Fertilizer Wheels and hubs. Place a 3/16” thick washer on ‘D’ bolt

and insert through the hub assembly and then assemble wheel cap with 5/16”
carriage bolts and locknuts.

7. Insert threaded end of ‘D’ bolt through ‘D’ hole in Fertilizer Combination Arm and

secure with 5/8 lock washer and nut. Torque 150 ft.lbs.

8. Assemble 3” stainless steel nipple, stainless steel coupler and nozzle tip (not

supplied). Slide this assembly into the Combo Nipple Holder and lock into position
with the 3/8” set-screw and jam nut.

9. Thread one ½” nut and Flat washer onto Combo Nipple Holder an insert the stud

through hole of Arm. Install another Flat washer and another ½” nut onto stud and
adjust the nozzle to be directly behind the Fertilizer Wheel. Tighten nuts securely.

10. Plumb your fertilizer lines to the attachment. Check that hoses do not become

pinched as the planter unit moves up and down.
