Cold Air Induction System

Step 1

Raise hood and disconnect (–) neg battery terminal.

Step 2

Disconnect all electrical connections to the mass-air
sensor and air inlet duct.

Step 3

Remove breather hose from air box and remove
90-degree tube for later use.

Step 4

Remove small vacuum nipple from accordion duct
between air duct and throttle body.
(Some models do not have this item.)

Step 5

Loosen hose clamps at the throttle body, mass-air
sensor and airbox and remove the mass-air sensor
and air duct from vehicle. The air duct is held to the
radiator support with 2 grommets - just tug firmly
upward to release from the grommets.

Step 6

Remove air filter box assembly from the vehicle, attachment to the chassis is the same as the air duct.

Step 7

Install 90-degree breather tube (from stock airbox) into the new air filter and loosely clamp the filter to the
mass-air sensor.

Step 8

Swap the air temp sensor and grommet from stock air duct to the BBK duct then loosely clamp the 3 1/2 I.D. blue
hose to the mass-air sensor and the BBK air duct.

Step 9

Loosely clamp the 4" I.D. blue hose to the air duct and install complete assembly into the vehicle attaching to the
throttle body and the two grommets on the radiator support..

Step 10

Align the hoses, clamps etc., before tightening the hose clamps.

Step 11

Reattach wiring to mass-air sensor, air temp. sensor and connect breather tube at the air filter.

Step 12

If equipped with small vacuum fitting between air duct and throttle body simply drill through the blue hose in the
gap between the duct and the throttle body using a 1/8" drill bit and press fitting into opening..

Step 13

Reattach neg. (–) battery terminal, start vehicle and let idle to full operating temp. Recheck to ensure everything
is tight and secure.
