BBK Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
Part # 1706/1707

INS-058

Step 1

Raise hood and disconnect negative battery terminal.

Step 2

Relieve pressure in fuel system at the fuel rail Schrader valve.

Step 3

Disconnect the vacuum hose from stock fuel regulator.

Step 4

Remove screws attaching the regulator to the fuel rail. On 1706 models 3 screws are threaded in to the underside
of the regulator, an Allen wrench will be required to remove these, while in some cases removal of the upper
manifold plenum may be required to gain access to the screws. On 1707 models simply remove the 2 screws
which are accessible from the top side.

Step 5

Firmly grasp the regulator and slowly pull straight up until the o-rings are free of the fuel rail.

Step 6

The BBK regulator is supplied with a fuel pressure gauge port which if not used must be plugged using the
supplied brass fitting and a small amount of Teflon tape.

Step 7

Before installing the BBK regulator to the rail make sure the o-ring(s) are in place and the rubber gasket is in
place. If the stock regulator had no rubber gasket installed you can discard the supplied gasket.

Step 8

Simply install the BBK regulator using stock hardware.

Step 9

Reattach the vacuum line and the negative battery terminal.

Step 10

Start vehicle momentarily, then inspect for any fuel leaks.

Step 11

To adjust the fuel pressure disconnect the vacuum hose and plug temporarily to avoid vacuum leak.

Step 12

Restart the vehicle and simply adjust the top adjustment screw in or out to raise or lower pressure to desired
reading (stock pressure is 39 psi). Once desired pressure is reached tighten the lock-nut and reconnect the
vacuum line to the regulator.
