POST PROCESS PROGRAM
The post process program is written utilizing the Borland Paradox Runtime Software.
This software utilizes the Borland Database Engine (BDE) and automatically handles use of
the database by the Drag Race Program and Post Process Program if calls to the databaseare
made simultaneously. This program allows you to print various reports and view screens
while fully utilizing Windows ’95 and ’98 capabilities. You can open several files in the Post
Process Program at the same time and jump from each of these programs to the Drag Race
Program while races are in process. It is a very robust program of which no reports of system
hanging or malfunction have been reported to Portatree. The system supports Windows
Networking and handles network traffic very efficiently.
LOADING THE 5 SOFTWARE DISKS
You have been sent 5 Post Process Program disks which must be loaded into you
Personal Computer in order to operate the system. The best way to load this program is
Double Click on My Computer and then Control Panel and you will see Add/Remove
Programs. Click on “Install” and start loading the 5 disks following the instructions from the
Windows Operating System. You can also remove the program in the same procedure by
clicking on remove.
After you have successfully installed the program, you should create a desktop ICON by
going to the Windows Explorer and finding the Post Process Program (Pdxrwn32.exe) which is
located in the C:\Program Files\Borland\Paradox Runtime directory. Drag and Drop this file on
to the main Windows ’95 / ’98 screen and rename the ICON “Post Process PROGRAM”.
Double Click on the Post Process ICON that you have just created. This will open up
the Paradox Runtime file and you will be at the main screen. You should see a Blank Screen.
Click on “File” the Click on “Working Directory” and “Browse” until you locate the C:\portatre
directory ( some Windows ’95 / ’98 versions put the files into the C:\portatre\portatre directory ).
Click on O-Kay to change directories and then click on File then Open then Script and select
“Startup.sdl”. This will open the Main Screen of the Portatree Post Process Program. When
you close down the Post Process Program from the Main Screen of the Post Process
Program, the next time that you open the Program you will automatically come to the Post
Process Main Screen.
SETTING UP THE “RESULTS” ALIAS
