INSTRUCTIONS
Congratulations on your purchase of Zoo Med’s NATURALISTIC TERRARIUM HOOD!
The following instructions will assist you with the proper set-up and operation of this
unit. Please read the following instructions carefully. If you have any questions regarding

FEATURES:
• Fits all 12” wide Naturalistic Terrariums (Zoo Med items NT-1 & NT-2)
• Single socket hood with reflector for increased heat or UVB output.
• UVB: Use with Zoo Med’s REPTISUN® 5.0 UVB Compact Fluorescent Lamp.
• DAYTIME HEAT: Use with Zoo Med’s Daylight Blue Reptile Bulb up to 60 watts.
• 24 HOUR HEAT: Use with Zoo Med’s Nightlight Red Reptile Bulb up to 60 watts.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
IMPORTANT: In order to reduce the risk of fires or electric shock, read and save these
instructions prior to operation.
• DO NOT exceed electrical rating.
• DO NOT splice, repair, or modify. Fully extend cord before using.
• DO NOT use in wet conditions. Use indoors only. Not for use with aquariums.
• Keep children and pets (other than your terrarium animals) away from fixture.
• Fully insert plug. Unplug power cord before inserting or changing bulb.
• To avoid possible electric shock, DO NOT insert objects other than approved light
bulbs into socket.
• DO NOT cover with blankets, rugs or any material.
• DO NOT operate the unit with a damaged cord, plug, or other component.
• DO NOT alter or modify this product. Contact an electrician if you are unsure about
the electrical connection.
• This unit has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to examine or repair this
product yourself. Return to Zoo Med for inspection and repair.

POLARIZED: This appliance has a POLARIZED plug (one blade is wider than the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
• This fixture is designed for use with one 60 watt (max) type A incandescent lamp, or
one 26 watt compact fluorescent lamp. Do not exceed electrical rating.
• This product is designed for terrarium use only. Not for aquarium use.
• Do not touch the bulb or the inside of the fixture when fixture is in operation.
• Installing or replacing bulb: Turn fixture off, unplug, and allow bulb to cool before
handling. To turn the fixture off, press the on/off switch located on the back of the
fixture near the power cord. After bulb has cooled, carefully unscrew the bulb from
the socket, and replace with a new bulb.
• Place the fixture on top of the terrarium above the screen cover.
• Fully insert plug into power outlet.
• Turn fixture on using the on/off switch located on the back of the fixture near the
power cord.
WARRANTY:
Zoo Med Laboratories, Inc. (Zoo Med) warrants each Naturalistic Terrarium Hood to be
free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for one year
from the date of purchase. The obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or
replacement, at Zoo Med’s discretion, of the product or any part thereof, when the prod-
uct is returned to Zoo Med, freight prepaid. No claim shall be allowed under this warranty
if, in the opinion of Zoo Med, the Naturalistic Terrarium Hood has been subject to ac-
cident or improper usage, including but not limited to: water damage, improper storage,
accidental dropping, etc. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties and representa-
tions express or implied. Please include your receipt, full name, address, phone number,
and email address along with a note explaining failure when sending any product back to
Zoo Med. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for repair or replacement.
