charger until the battery is installed and initialized. Encore MUST be plugged

into a standard wall socket after installing the battery in order to initialize the

battery.

Installing the Battery
• Remove the battery cover on the back of Encore by sliding it in the opposite

direction of the arrow.

• Place the battery in the battery compartment positive end first (the end with

the button) paying close attention to the plus and minus symbols in the battery

compartment. Push the battery down until fully seated. The battery will only fit in

the compartment in one direction.

• Replace the battery cover by sliding it in the direction of the arrow.
Initializing the Battery
• IMPORTANT - The battery MUST be initialized before the first use.
• To initialize the battery, unfold the AC prongs and plug Encore into a standard

wall socket.

• After a few seconds, the battery fuel gauge will light up. Leave Encore in the wall

socket for at least 15 seconds before removing. The battery is now initialized

and Encore will function as a portable charger.

• The battery may not be fully charged when removed from the box. It is

recommended that you leave Encore plugged into a wall socket until the fuel

gauge indicates that the battery is fully charged.

• The battery must be re-initialized anytime it is removed from Encore. Removing

the battery is only necessary when the battery has reached the end of its useful

life span and needs to be replaced.

Using Encore in a Wall Socket

begin charging its own internal battery.

• Attach your device’s USB charge cable to the USB port on the end of Encore.

battery is fully charged for portable use, disconnect your device from Encore

once it is charged. This will allow Encore to fully charge it’s own internal battery.

• Encore can be unplugged from the wall socket while it is charging your device

and Encore will automatically switch to its internal battery to continue charging

your device as long as the internal battery has not been fully discharged.

is no wall socket available.

• Encore’s AC prongs can be folded in when not needed to connect to a wall
