Section 7: Messaging

This section explains how to send and receive
messages, and other features and functionality
associated with messaging.

Types of Messages

Your phone supports these types of messages:

Text Messages

: Send and receive simple messages

containing text to other mobile phones or Email
addresses (also known as SMS).

Multimedia Messages

: Send and receive text

messages with attached pictures, video, and/or
sound to other mobile phones or email addresses
(also known as MMS).

Voicemail

: Retrieve voice messages from callers.

Mobile Email

: Send and receive email from your

email accounts.

Using the QWERTY Keyboard

For fast and easy entry of contact information,
open the phone to use the QWERTY keyboard.
For more information, see “Using the QWERTY
Keyboard”

on page 42.

Note:

Instructions for creating, editing and
managing Contacts use the QWERTY
keyboard, unless otherwise stated in the
procedure.

Accessing Messages

Messages you send and receive are stored in
Messaging.

From the Main screen, press MESSAGES.

Choose an option:
• Voicemail: Access Voicemail, to retrieve voice

messages from callers. For more information,

see “Voicemail” on page 51.

• Send Message: Create a new message. For

more information, see “Text and Picture

Messages” on page 49.

• Messages: Create, send and manage

messages you have sent, received, and created

but not sent (drafts).

• Service Alerts: View messages from your

service provider. For more information, see

“Service Alerts” on page 50.

• Email: Create and send emails from your

accounts. For more information, see “Email”

on page 50.

• Settings: Configure message settings. For more

information, see “Messages Settings” on

page 52.
