Creating and Sending Text Messages

Text messaging may be available in the future with postpay
subscription plans. For more information, refer to “AT&T Account
Manager”
on page 21.

1.

From the Home screen, tap

Messaging

.

2.

Tap on the To field to manually enter a recipient or tap on

to select from your contacts.

If adding a recipient from your Contacts, tap one of the

three tabs at the top of the display. Choose between

Contacts, Groups, or Favorites.

4.

Tap the contact to place a checkmark then tap Add.

The contact will be placed in the recipient field.

Note: For the Group option, if the number of recipients is less than 10, all

members in the group will be added. You will need to delete any
unnecessary members in the list by selecting the trash can icon and
deleting unwanted entries.

Note: Enter additional recipients by separating each entry with a semicolon

(;) then using the previous procedure.

5.

Tap the Enter message here field and use the keypad to

enter a message. For more information, refer to “Entering

Text” on page 30.

Add more recipients by tapping the To field.

7.

Review your message and tap

Note: If you exit a message before you send it, it will be automatically saved

as a draft.

Text Message Options

Options before composing a message

From the Home screen, tap

Messaging

.

Before composing a message, press

to reveal

additional messaging options.

• Delete threads: allows you to delete an message thread. Select the

messages to delete and a green checkmark will appear next to the
message. Tap Delete.

• Brightness setting: allows you to adjust the brightness of your

display or you can set to Automatic brightness.

• Settings: allows you to access Messaging settings. For more

information, refer to “Text Messaging Settings” on page 64.
