Recording onto your Network Walkman

— Only for NW-MS77DR

You can record songs onto your Network Walkman from a digital audio device (e.g. CD player) using an
optical digital cable (supplied), or an analog audio device (e.g. cassette tape player) using a connecting cord
(not supplied), not via computer.

Note

Recording from a digital audio device using an optical digital cable is possible only with a sound source (CD, MD, etc.) of
44.1 kHz sampling frequency. When recording a sound source of another sampling frequency, use analog recording,
connecting the recording cable to the LINE OUT jack, etc.

Prepare the device to which you record songs.

When recording to the built-in flash memory

Remove MagicGate-compatible “Memory Stick Duo” (not supplied) from the Network Walkman. (If inserted, songs
will be recorded to the “Memory Stick Duo”.) For removing the “Memory Stick Duo”, refer to page 24.

When recording to a “Memory Stick”

Insert MagicGate-compatible “Memory Stick Duo” (not supplied) into the Network Walkman.

Notes

• When using a “Memory Stick”, release the

erasure prevention switch (page 46) on the
“Memory Stick” if it set to “LOCK.”

• Be sure to insert the “Memory Stick” fully until

it clicks.

• Do not label “Memory Stick Duo” to prevent

sticking it in the slot.
