Stunning images brimming with detail are yours
at 16.1-megapixel* resolution, thanks to Sony’s new
proprietary Exmor ® APS HD CMOS sensor (APS-C size).
This ultra-high resolution is complemented by an
extra-large sensor size that raises sensitivity in low-light
conditions and strengthens background defocusing
effects. So you can add a cinematic sense of depth
and drama to virtually any scene.

Sony’s dramatically enhanced BIONZ ® image
processor brings out the full potential of your
images at high speed. Through powerful algorithms,
it effortlessly processes the vast data generated by the
image sensor while also handling intensive tasks such
as advanced digital compositing and noise reduction
to deliver extremely accurate color and rich tonal
gradations throughout the entire dynamic range.
921,600-dot tilt LCD monitor
The brightness and clarity of Sony’s big Xtra Fine LCD ™ monitor brings out every detail of your scene, setting you free to clearly shoot in
challenging shooting environments. Images are displayed at a crisp 921K dot resolution on the 3.0" (7.5 cm, 4:3 aspect ratio) screen,
which can be flipped up to 180° vertically and rotated up to 270° horizontally to flexibly support shooting from unusual perspectives.
Brightness can be adjusted either manually or automatically, and the Sunny Weather mode boosts brightness in bright sunlight to
facilitate viewing.
Since advanced image stabilization is built within
the camera body, you can enjoy sharp images
with suppressed camera shake blur when using
any lens. The advanced class performance provides
compensation equivalent to approx. 2.5 to 4.5 steps
in shutter speed.
