If you can’t seem to get close enough to the subject, press the zoom
lever to activate Clear Image Zoom. This extends the reach of a lens
up to 2x without markedly degrading image quality. Clear Image
Zoom employs Sony’s By Pixel Super Resolution Technology to
achieve amazingly sharp zoom shots without a telephoto lens. And
by combining it with NEX-3N’s Digital Zoom and Smart Zoom*, you
can increase magnification up to 8x over the lens’ maximum focal
length. What’s more, Clear Image Zoom supports both photos and
movies so you’ll always have plenty of reach for distant subjects.
