z What is a voice synthesis (text-to-speech) engine?
• A voice synthesis engine (also called text-to-speech engine) is a
special piece of software that transforms text data into audible
speech.
• Microsoft ® Sam is an English-language text-to-speech engine that
comes standard with Windows XP.
