1. Ledger Strip Location

The ledger strip is used to support the rear most beam assembly. Mark a line in the center above the door where the trellis is to be mounted

and in the center of the ledger strip provided. Determine the height that the beams are to be mounted above the door. The top edge of the

ledger strip will be located at this height.

2. Ledger Strip Installation

To mount the ledger strip, 1/4" holes must first be drilled through it to accommodate the fasteners. 4 fasteners are required per bracket. If

mounting into concrete, holes must be pre-drilled using a

" masonry drill bit as the fasteners supplied require it. Attach the ledger strip to

the mounting surface with the appropriate fasteners.

3. Bracket Mount Installation

Before mounting the bracket mounts to the mounting surface, 1/4" holes must be drilled through them to accommodate the fasteners. It is

recommended that a minimum of 4 holes be drilled into the bracket mounts at the approximate locations. Make sure to butt the bracket

mounts up to the ledger strip and making sure the tops of the bracket mounts are even with the top of the ledger strip. If mounting into con-

crete, holes must be pre-drilled using a

" masonry drill bit as the fasteners supplied require it. Attach the bracket mounts to the mounting

surface with the appropriate fasteners.

4. Attaching Brackets

Once the bracket mounts are installed the brackets may be attached to them. Slide a bracket onto the right bracket mount and use four

#8 x 2" FIN/Trim Head Screws supplied to secure it in place. Repeat this for the left bracket.

5. Mounting the Beam Assembly

Before mounting the beam assembly, holes must be drilled in the rear beam to accommodate the fasteners. It is recommended that at least 4

holes be drilled into the rear beam.

6. Concrete Hole Location and Size

If mounting into concrete, holes must be pre-drilled using a 1/2" masonry drill bit as the fasteners supplied require it. Use the beam assembly

as a template to mark for these hole locations. Set the beam assembly on top of the ledger strip and brackets. Attach it to the mounting

surface with the appropriate fasteners. Make sure the beam assembly is centered with the door. Finish by toe screwing the beam assembly to

the left and right brackets using two #8 x 2" FIN/trim head screws.

7. Finishing

All exposed fastener heads can be countersunk and fill with a lightweight spackling. Allow the spackling to cure then sand flush to the

PVC surface.
