Installation & Adjustment Instructions

Step (1)
Open hood of vehicle and prop securely. Before proceeding, make sure the factory hood latch is adjusted
and working properly.
Step (2)
With key in the unlock position (turned horizontal) temporarily position the lock on the center latch as seen
in (Fig.1).
Note: The shorter side of the lock assembly needs to be facing up towards the vehicles hood.

(Fig.1)

Step (3)
The lock should be preset from the manufacturer but due to the number of variations in models some
adjustment may be needed. After installation turn the key top the vertical position (locked). If the key does
not turn easily back to the locked position, or is very loose the striker bar, located on the lower long side of
the lock, will need to be adjusted. Loosen the two screws on the striker bar and move to the proper position
and tighten snuggly.
Step (4)
Final test: With the all the adjustments completed remove the lock and lower the hood. Working through
the front of the grille, replace the lock and turn the key to the locked position making sure that the lock has
caught the hood hook. To open your hood it now will be required to unlock and remove the lock assembly.
User Guide.
It may be easier to install the lock by holding the key as a handle with your right hand, while using your left
to guide the lock into place. It might be required to squeeze the upper and lower parts of the lock when
installing. This does not affect the security of the unit.

Warnings

NEVER drive your vehicle without properly securing all latches. This lock is not a replacement of any factory installed
equipment and must be used in conjunction to avoid any damage to your persons or vehicle. NO lock has a 100%
effective guarantee, use common sense when using and always park in well light areas.

Maintenance.

Frequent lubrication of the lock face and internal components are required. A small amount of bearing grease or
Vaseline should be smeared over the face of the lock to help maintain proper function over time. Monthly checks need
to be made to insure a long operating life.
