Machine does not start
Interruption in the power supply
Check the power supply; ensure the plug is switched on. Have the power circuit tested
by a qualified electrician
The power cable or mains plug is
defective
Have the power cable replaced by an authorised Silverline service centre
The on/off trigger switch is defective
Have the switch replaced by an authorised Silverline service centre
Construction site generator in sleep mode
Activate generator
Voltage from generator too low or
incompatible with this machine
This machine may be incompatible with this specific power source
No hammering action
The machine is too cold
Have the machine warm up, then run it under no load to warm up the oil and loosen up
the internal mechanisms
Insufficient lubrication
Check oil level (see ‘Maintenance’) and top up if appropriate. Running the tool with
insufficient lubrication may have caused tool damage, in which case the machine needs
to be repaired by an authorised Silverline service centre
A fault has occurred in the machine
Have the tool repaired by an authorised Silverline service centre
The machine does not
operate at full power
The extension lead is too long or of
inadequate cross section
Use a suitable extension lead
The voltage provided by the power
supply is too low
Check power supply and change to a different circuit if possible
A fault has occurred in the machine
Have the tool repaired by an authorised Silverline service centre
Oil is leaking from the
machine housing
Seals missing/damaged
If occurring after an oil service or top-up, check the seals underneath the covers that
had been removed during service. Otherwise, have the tool repaired by an authorised
Silverline service centre
