INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

• The wiring box will accept metal conduit or nonmetallic cable, but metal

conduit must be used if your electrical code requires it.

Metal Conduit: remove appropriate round pry-out(s) and connect conduit to

wiring box with proper connector(s) (not included).

Nonmetallic Cable: remove appropriate rectangular pry-out(s) on top of

wiring box and insert cable, pushing past the cable lock in wiring box. Cable

will be held in place by the lock; no other connector is required.

• Make electrical connections:

- Connect 1/2" trade size flexible conduit (supply wire) to junction box

opening near housing with sustainable housing.

- Connect black to black (hot), white to white (neutral), and green to green

(ground) with twist type wire connectors (not provided). (Figure 1)

- Connect output leads Molex plug from transformer to receptacle plug in

junction box.

- Replace cover. Ensure that all wires are safely within box before closing.
• This fixture is designed for use with 12V 50W MR16 type Halogen bulb. If a

lamp larger than 50W is used, the built-in thermal protector will cause the

lamp to blink on and off, indicating a potential over-heating situation. A

proper 50W MR16 lamp must then be utilized.

• Care should be taken in the handling of the 50W MR16 Halogen lamp; only

grasp by the rim or back of the lamp, never place bare fingers inside or touch

the encapsulation. The two contact pins of the lamp should be firmly set into

the two holes of the porcelain backed lamp holder (socket). NEVER ATTEMPT

TO PLUG A LAMP DIRECTLY INTO THE PLASTIC MOLEX CONNECTOR.

• This fixture is provided with a connector that acts as a disconnect to

remove socket assemble when using some of Con-Tech Lighting’s trim

models. This disconnect device may also be used in the event of any

required socket replacement. Care should be taken to ensure that the

connector housing does not come in contact with the high temperatures

of the lamp holder.
