Installation and Operating Instructions

Carbon Monoxide transmitter with contact input

Model CO1004-3

Installation

Please contact a licensed fire alarm installer for assistance with this product. Improper installation can damage your alarm
panel and/or prevent proper operation of the alarm system. Technical support is available at (800) 572-5227.

1. The CO 1004-3 is designed to interface with a dry contact output. It will transmit as long as the contact is closed and will stop

transmitting when the contact opens.

2. Using the supplied Velcro strip, attach the CO transmitter to the wall next to the alarm panel.

Operation

1. The CO 1004-3 will transmit as long as the contact is closed. It will cause a CO indication on any Silent Call receiver.
2. Range is approximately 100-500 feet, depending on which Silent Call Receiver you are using and local conditions.
3. When transmitting, the CO 1004-3 will cause a CO indication on all Silent Call receivers except the Omni Pager, and on the

Sidekick the SOUND, PHONE, and DOOR lights are illuminated . The carbon monoxide indication on the Lamplighter and
Crystal Reflections is the CO light illuminated. There is no visual indication on the Omni Page but it will vibrate in response to
the CO 1004-3.

4. This unit is powered by two AAA size alkaline cells. Actual battery life is determined by the amount of time the transmitter is

transmitting. In normal use the batteries may be expected to last several years. However, they should be changed once a year.

Switch settings

The Silent Call system is digitally coded. The code sent by the transmitter must match the code that your receiver has been set for.
All Silent Call receivers and transmitters leave the factory set for the default code of 1, 2 and 3 = OFF and 4 and 5 = ON. Unless you
have changed the code in your receiver from the factory default setting, you do not need to change the switch settings in your
transmitter.
The code switch is accessed by removing the battery cover. The first five positions (left to right)
determine the code that the transmitter sends when it activates. Positions 6-9 determine which light
activates on your receiver. Do not change the settings of positions 6-9. If you accidentally disturb
them, the correct setting for positions 6-9 is 6 OFF, 7 OFF, 8 OFF, 9 ON.
