Using the Flash

Use the flash when you take pictures at night, indoors, or outdoors in heavy
shadows. The flash setting can be changed in any Still mode; the default flash
setting is restored when the you exit the mode turn off the camera.

Flash Range

Wide angle: 2 to 11.2 ft (0.6 to 3.4 m)

m

Telephoto: 2 to 6.6 ft (0.6 to 2.0 m)

Turning On The Flash

Press the

button repeatedly to scroll

through the flash options.

Press the OK button

The flash icon that is displayed on the
LCD status bar (

page 9

) is the active

option.

Auto Flash—flash fires when
the lighting conditions require
it.

Off—flash never fires.

Fill—flash fires every time you

take a picture, regardless of the
lighting conditions.

Red-eye—flash fires once so
the subject’s eyes become
accustomed to the flash, then
fires again when the picture is
taken.
