The following symptom might indicate damage caused by nonwarranted activities:
• Missing parts might be a symptom of unauthorized service or modification.

Power system checkout

To verify a symptom, do the following:

1. Turn off the tablet.
2. Remove the built-in battery.
3. Attach the tablet to a ThinkPad Tablet Dock (hereafter referred to as the dock) and then connect the

dock to an electrical outlet using the 65 W ac power adapter shipped with the dock.

4. Check whether power is supplied when you turn on the tablet.
5. Turn off the tablet.
6. Disconnect the ac power adapter and detach the dock. Then install the built-in battery.
7. Check whether the built-in battery supplies power when you turn on the tablet.

Checking the built-in battery

When you use the built-in battery but the tablet fails, see the instructions in this topic to check the built-in
battery.

To check the built-in battery, do the following:

1. Turn off the tablet.

2. Replace the built-in battery with another battery.

3. Check that power is supplied when you turn on the tablet.

If you can turn on the tablet, replace the built-in battery.

Checking the built-in battery status

To check for the accurate status and adjust your tablet power settings to achieve the best balance between
performance and power saving, do the following:

1. From the Start screen, tap Lenovo Settings Battery.

2. Check your battery status and configure settings.

To check the battery status in Lenovo Support, do the following:

1. From the Start screen, tap Lenovo Support Battery Health.

2. Check your battery status and configure settings.

Checking the ThinkPad Tablet AC Adapter

When you use the ThinkPad Tablet AC Adapter to charge the tablet but no power is charged, see the
instructions in this topic to check the ThinkPad Tablet AC Adapter.

To check the ThinkPad Tablet AC Adapter, do the following:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the tablet.
2. Measure the output voltage at the plug of the power cord. Refer to the following illustration:
