4. The Access Connections installation on the client machine should not show the Peer-to-Peer tab

on main interface.

Note: In a real time scenario, the client system automatically refreshes the Group Policy at certain time
intervals.

By default, this time interval is 90 mins, with a random offset of 0 to 30 minutes.

Whenever the client machine is refreshed with a policy, Access Connections should also be updated with
the latest changes made in the Group Policy (if there were any changes).

Installing the client configuration plugin for Access Connections

Designed to save you time and effort, Lenovo has provided supplemental plug-in files to set client
configuration policies for Access Connections. The following supplemental file is compressed in the
acplgin45.exe:

tvtacad.adm - This administrative template is used with Group Policy to set the configuration policies

for Access Connections.

This file supports Access Connections 4.2 and above.

Group Policy settings

This table provides policies settings for Access Connections that can be modified using the ADM file
template.

Policy Setting

Description

Do not allow clients to become an Access Connections
administrator.

If enabled, Access Connections administrator feature can
not be enabled on the clients. Users can not then use
Profile Distribution capability to export location profiles
or policies.

Do not allow clients to change global settings.

If enabled, the global settings can not be modified by
users.

Do not allow clients to import location profiles unless
included in a distribution package.

If enabled, users can not import location profiles (.loc
files) but still would be able to import location profiles
included in a distribution package(.loa files).

Do not allow clients to export location profiles.

If enabled, users can not export location profiles feature.

Do not allow clients to create location profiles.

If enabled, users would not able to create location profiles.
Users can not also save the profile from connection
created using Find Wireless Network.

Allow Windows users without administrator privileges to
create and apply WLAN/WiMAX location profiles using
Find Wireless Network function.

If enabled, users (including users with limited privileges)
can save profiles from connection created using Find
Wireless Network.

Disable automatic profile creation.

If enabled, profiles will not be created automatically.

Disable automatic location profile switching feature.

If enabled, automatic location profile switching is disabled.

Disable Find Wireless Network function.

If enabled, Find Wireless Network function is not available.

Disable check for updates feature.

If enabled, check for updates feature is not available.

Do not allow clients to view or edit browser home page
setting in location profile.

If enabled, users can not view or edit browser home page
setting in location profile.
