4.2.4 Local connection
The printer driver can be installed with plug-and-play.

You may be possible to skip step 3 to 5 to install faster by selecting [No
let me choose what to do] - [Never install driver software from Windows
Update] in the [Hardware] tab in the [System Properties] screen.

Connect a USB cable to a USB port (square type) at the rear of the cop-
ier and a computer, and then start up the computer.
[Driver Software Installation] dialog box appears.

Click [Click here for status].

Click [Skip obtaining driver software from Windows Update].

Click [Yes].

Click [Close].

Right-click the printer icon in the [Devices and Printers] window, and
select [Properties].

Select the [Hardware] tab, check that [Type] is displayed as [Other de-
vices] and click [Properties].

Click [Change settings].

Select [Driver] tab, and click [Update Driver].
– Repeat the steps from the step 5 if you cannot click [Update Driver].

Click [Browse my computer for driver software].

Click [Browse].

Specify the desired folder on the Driver CD that contains the printer
driver, and then click the [OK].
– Select printer driver (PCL, PostScript PPD) to be used.
