Introduction
Direct Print - Adobe Photoshop CS4 Plug-in for KIP KC80
Purpose:
Leverage Photoshop’s color management and advance image editing capabilities
while allowing for direct printing capabilities to the KIP KC80.
Functionality:
1. The plug-in leverages Adobe CS4’s capability of generating individual CMYK layers
that are then passed along to the KIP KC80 IPS for printing. (CMYK layer generation
is normally accomplished by the color engine components found on the KIP KC80
IPS).
2. This handoff process is normally facilitated by Windows System Printer Drivers and
their corresponding spooling mechanisms.
The Adobe Photoshop CS4 plug-in for KIP Color 80 bypasses items (1) and (2). This gives
the end user a more fluid and less complex experience from the design phase to the
output phase.
Benefits:
1. There is no need to save the file in a specific printable format suitable for KIP KC80
2. Windows Driver requirement is removed.
3. Reduces “post design manipulation”.
4. Allows end user to work entirely within the comfort of the CS4 design application
Extended Features:
KIP CS4 Photoshop plug-in offers:
1. Selectable and independent enlargement/reduction percentages, media type(s),
and number of copies.
2. Halftoning options include the ability to change the LPI, screening angle(s) and
halftone pattern(s) for each CMYK layer.
