Description

[Reauthenticate before

WEP key distribution]

Specify whether to make authentication when distributing the

WEP key.

By default, this check box is unchecked.

[WEP key change interval

(seconds)]

Specify in seconds the interval with which the WEP key is

changed and distributed to each station

The default value is 600 seconds.

[Key Length]

Specify the length of the WEP key to be distributed.

The default value is 5 bytes.

[Enable WEP]

WEP is short for Wired Equivalent Privacy. This function

encrypts communication data for improved security.

When this check box is selected, you must select one of

cryptographic keys 1 to 4 explained next and specify the

cryptographic key in the edit box.

A station that does not use WEP or whose key is inconsistent

cannot be connected to the access point.

The check box is selected by default.

[Keys 1 to 4]

Select one of the keys 1 to 4 and specify the WEP cryptographic

key.

Use an ASCII character string or hexadecimal number. Key

length must be 5 or 13 bytes. (The max key length depends on

the card.) The longer key becomes more secure.

All keys are set to “WEP00” by default. Please change it.

[RADIUS Server 1 to 4]

Enable or disable the RADIUS server setting.

The access point sends inquiries in order to valid RADIUS servers

until the authentication succeeds or fails.

By default, the setting is disabled.

[Host Name]

Set the host name or IP address of the RADIUS server.

By default, the host name is not set.

[Port]

Set the port number of the RADIUS server.

The default value is 1812.

[Shared Secret]

Set the shared secret of the RADIUS server. Shared secret is a

password for communication between the access point and the

RADIUS server.

By default, the shared secret is not set.

[Time-out]

Set a time-out value in seconds.

The default value is 20 seconds.

[Apply] button

Ends up saving the selected item.

[Reset] button

Ends up without saving the selected item.


Memo

If the WEP function is enabled, network throughput is deteriorated by encryption processing.
