Programs and Functions

Consult the list below for program descriptions matching the program names and option buttons found on your washer panel.

Available programs and functions vary by model. The range of programs includes quick wash programs for lightly soiled

laundry and heavy duty programs designed for heavily soiled laundry (Hot Cotton/Permanent Press , KIDSCARE, Temp Boost).

Choose the Heavy Duty option button to increase cycle length to help remove tough stains and increase cleaning performance.

AUTOMATIC PROGRAMS - Regular/Cotton

(program names are located on the program selector dial area)

Cold

Lightly soiled non-colorfast fabric. Sturdy, hard wearing items made of cotton or linen (colors that may bleed or

fade).

Warm

Lightly and/or normally soiled non-colorfast fabric. Sturdy hard wearing items made of cotton or linen (e.g. jeans,

T-shirts and sweatshirts).

Hot

Terry towels, kitchen towels, hand towels, bed linen, underwear, cotton socks.

Temp Boost

Sturdy, hard wearing items made of cotton or linen such as towels, sheets or white sports socks. Intended for heavily

soiled and/or stained colorfast fabrics.

AUTOMATIC PROGRAMS - Permanent press

(program names are located on the program selector dial area)

Cold

Items consisting of lightly soiled and/or normally soiled non-colorfast cotton, permanent press, linen, synthetic or

blended fabrics and outer garments. Clothes requiring a special tumble sequence and spin speed to minimize
creasing.

Warm

Items consisting of lightly soiled and/or normally soiled non-colorfast cotton, permanent press, linen, synthetic or

blended fabrics and outer garments. Clothes requiring a special tumble sequence and spin speed to minimize
creasing, such as blouses, shirts and overalls.

Hot

Items consisting of normally soiled colorfast cotton, permanent press, linen, synthetic or blended fabrics and outer

garments. Clothes requiring a special tumble sequence and spin speed to minimize creasing.

Option Buttons- Provide additional options available during wash programs

(located in the Additional Functions area)

ECO

reduces the amount of energy used for the selected wash program.

Bleach

adds a bleach cycle to the selected program.

Rinse Plus

adds an additional rinse cycle to the selected program.

Heavy Duty

increases wash time for heavily soiled loads.

Special Programs - For specific laundry needs

KIDSCARE

For stained, heavily soiled and hard-wearing fabrics (e.g. children's jeans, sheets, t-shirts).

Delicates/Silk

Intended for use with delicate easy care items made of cotton, satin, synthetic or blended fabrics and curtains,

dresses, skirts and blouses. Bulky items (e.g. comforters) can be washed with this cycle because of gentle action and
additional rinse (automatically added). There is no spinning between rinse cycles.

Hand Wash

Wool

Hand Wash settings are intended for very delicate easy care items that usually require hand washing. These cycles

have been specifically designed to provide extremely gentle treatment of fabrics. Silk or other items marked with the
Hand Wash" symbol u on the care label can be safely washed with this cycle.

Wool

Hand wash/Wool and Wool are for Woolens (machine and hand wash).

XXTRASANITARY

Specifically designed to eliminate most common household bacteria while providing gentle treatment of fabrics.

Clothes will be saturated in hot water long enough to kill most common household bacteria without causing additional
wear and tear to the clothes. Used for heavily soiled and/or stained colorfast fabrics that need to be sanitized, such
as towels, underwear, socks, bed sheets, table cloths, etc.

Comforter

Specially designed program for large/bulky items. Extra water is used to ensure complete wetting and gentler spins

are used to reduce stretching.

Jeans

Specially designed for jeans and heavy denims, this program reduces fading and wrinkling.

Quick Wash 25

For mixed loads (e.g. cotton, linen, synthetic materials or blended fabrics) that are lightly soiled

This program is intended for very small loads with very light soiling. Useful for most fabric types except Delicates or

lighter.

This program is intended for all load sizes but is tuned especially for medium to large loads with very light soiling.

Useful for most fabric types except delicates or lighter.

Drain/Spin

Water is drained followed by a high speed spin.

Drain

Can be used to drain water without going through a spin cycle.

Spin

Spin cycle for spinning wet, hand washed laundry. Water is drained before and during the spin cycle.

Soak

For pre-treatment of heavily stained items. The soak cycle lasts two hours and ends with a short spin cycle.

Refresh

For rinsing unsoiled textiles (e.g. swimwear) and for removing detergent residue from textiles. Ends with a spin cycle.
