INTRODUCTION

We are pleased to have you as a Bush Hog cus-
tomer. Your Bush Hog Zero Turn Mower has been
carefully designed to give maximum service with
minimum down time. This manual is provided to give
you the necessary operating and maintenance
instructions for keeping your mower in top operating
condition. Please read this manual thoroughly.
Understand what each control is for and how to use
it. Observe all safety precautions decaled on the
machine and noted throughout the manual for safe
operation of implement. If any assistance or addition-
al information is needed, contact your authorized
Bush Hog dealer. Optional equipment such as Roll
Over Protection Systems, Seat Belts or Front Blade
Assemblies are covered in their individual instruc-
tions, which come with the kits.

NOTE:

All references made to right, left, front, rear, top or bot-
tom is as viewed facing the direction of forward travel
with implement properly attached to power unit.

DESCRIPTION

The Zero Turn is intended for use on large lawns and
other maintained areas where a smooth, even cut is

The mower deck is driven by a power take-off
(PTO) shaft from the engine. An electrically con-
trolled clutch is used to engage/disengage the PTO.

The mower attachment is available in three sizes;
48”, 54”, and 60” cut. The mower has three uplift
blades, driven by the input gearbox through a single
V-belt controlled by a spring loaded tensioner.

tractor unit consists of either an 18 hp Kohler, 22 hp
Kohler, 25 hp Kohler, or 22 hp water cooled
Kawasaki, two cylinder engine, and a power take-off
(PTO) shaft. The engine has a pressurized oil lubri-
cation system with spin-on type filter, fused electron-
ic ignition, electric start and a 5 gallon fuel tank.

Two hydrostatic pumps and two wheel motors are
used for propelling and steering. The pumps are belt
driven by the engine output shaft. One lever for each
drive controls both speed and direction. This inde-
pendent control of each drive wheel coupled with
continuously variable speed selection gives the Zero
Turn mower exceptional maneuverability.
