out. Replace batteries with new LR44 (or AG13) cells by placing them with the
flat sides (+) facing in toward each other. Replace battery cover and snap in place.
Do not overtighten screw.
Special features and the Advanced Safety Technology™ (AST) system
1. This unit is equipped with a safety auto off, plus a safety thermal fuse and
CAUTION light. If the unit experiences excessive heat, the safety auto off will
shut off unit, and CAUTION light will go on. If this happens, turn dial to OFF
immediately. Be sure front and back grilles are not blocked and nothing is
restricting airflow. If CAUTION light stays on, unplug unit, let it cool down,
and wait 10 minutes before plugging it back in to operate. Readjust your
temperature or room settings. If unit fails to operate after 10 minutes, it may
mean heater has internal damage and thermal fuse has been tripped so heater
can no longer operate.
2. Motion-off detection feature: Cuts the power if unit falls over in any direction
or is lifted (such as if you move it to another part of the room).
3. Tip-over switch: Cuts the power if unit is knocked over forward or backward.
Both are controlled by the tip-over switch on bottom of unit. Do not attempt
to defeat this safety feature.
Care and Cleaning
This appliance is permanently lubricated and will not require additional
lubrication for the life of unit. This product contains no user serviceable parts.
Refer service to qualified service personnel.
1. Always turn off unit, unplug, disconnect cord from outlet, and allow heater
to cool completely before cleaning.
2. To clean the exterior, use a soft dry cloth or one moistened with a mild
detergent to wipe the outside surfaces. Do not use abrasives or harsh cleansers.
Dry surfaces thoroughly before using heater. Or, you can use a vacuum with
a dusting brush attachment to clean away dust.
Caution: Do not immerse heater in water or allow water to drip into interior of
heater, as this could create an electric shock hazard.
3. Store heater in a dry area. Gather power cord in loops and secure with a twist
tie. Don’t let power cord come in contact with sharp edges or get compressed
by heavy objects. Portable electric heaters are designed for space heating as
a supplementary heat source. They are not intended to be the main source
of heat.

ADVERTENCIA: Para reducir el riesgo de incendio:
❑ A fin de reducir el riesgo de incendio, cuando el calentador se
encuentre enchufado, mantenga todo material combustible incluyendo
los muebles, las almohadas, la ropa de cama, ropa, cortinas y papeles
por lo menos a 0,9 m (3 pies) de distancia del frente, de los costados
y de la parte trasera del calentador.
❑ No coloque el calentador cerca de las camas; las almohadas o las
cobijas podrían caerse de la cama e incendiarse al entrar en contacto

❑ Evite el uso de un cable de extensión porque éste se puede

alternativa, utilice un cable de extensión con capacidad mínima de
14 AWG y de calificación no menor de 1875 watts.
A fin de reducir el riesgo de un incendio, choque eléctrico o lesiones a las

❑ Se debe de tener mucho cuidado cuando un calentador se utiliza por
o en la presencia de los menores de edad o de las personas
minusválidas. No desatienda el aparato mientras éste se encuentre
en funcionamiento.
❑ No utilice ningún calentador si el cable o el enchufe presentan
cualquier desperfecto, si el aparato no funciona bien, si lo ha dejado
caer o dañado. Devuelva el calentador a un centro de servicio
autorizado para que la examinen, reparen o arreglen. También puede
llamar gratis al número apropiado que aparece en la cubierta de este
manual.
❑ No utilice este aparato a la intemperie.
❑ Este calentador no ha sido diseñado para uso en los baños, en los
cuartos de lavandería ni en las áreas interiores semejantes. Jamás
coloque el calentador donde pueda caer adentro de una bañera
u otro recipiente con agua.
❑ No pase el cable por debajo de las alfombras ni lo cubra con tapetes,
alfombras de pasillo ni coberturas semejantes. Acomode el cable
alejado de las áreas de tráfico de manera que nadie lo pise ni se
tropiece.
