Before cutting, lightly oil the cutting line.

Hold the tool at a angle 80° to 90° to the metal
surface (Fig. 2).

Excessive feed rates reduce the performance
considerably and shorten the life of the
cutters.

Sharp cutters produce good cutting results
and protects the tool.

Do not load the tool so heavily that it stalls.

Cutting curved lines: Do not tilt the tool and
work with low feed rate.

Tool Tips

Switch is spring loaded and will snap back
automatically.

Start the tool before applying to work and let
the tool come to full speed before contacting
the workpiece. Lift the tool from the work
before releasing the switch. DO NOT turn the
switch “ON” and “OFF” while the tool is
under load; this will greatly decrease the
switch life.

HAND GUARD

The hand guard protects the hands while
cutting, and deflects material downwards
and away from the operator. The hand guard
must be used at all times while using this
shear.
